During the visit of the “University of Business and Science” delegation to Korea, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with Sejong University.
Sejong University is ranked 7th among South Korean universities and 201-250th in the global university rankings according to the prestigious “Times Higher Education” organization for 2025.
Located in Seoul, South Korea, the university is renowned for its academic prestige, cutting-edge scientific research, and opportunities offered to students.
Currently, about 14,000 students are enrolled at Sejong University in fields such as engineering, business, arts, and design, with over 2,400 of them being international students.
Based on the memorandum between UBS and Sejong, the following areas of collaboration have been established:
– A 2+2 joint education program between the universities;
– Short-term internships for engineering students;
– Education based on Sejong University's curriculum;
– Professional development for faculty members.
Within the framework of the 2+2 joint education program, students can spend the first two years at UBS and the remaining two years at Sejong University.
As part of the joint program, 60-100 of the most advanced students from UBS are specially selected each academic year to continue their studies in Korea based on the Sejong University curriculum.
The following areas are planned for implementation under the joint education program:
– Business management;
– Hospitality and tourism management;
– Public administration;
– Computer engineering.
These programs are designed to develop educational ties and knowledge exchange between the two countries and provide students who successfully meet the credit and graduation requirements with the opportunity to receive diplomas from both universities.
Additionally, various directions for the professional development of faculty members were discussed during the negotiations. Collaboration on transferring students based on the ECTS credit system was also established.
Sejong University is one of the leading institutions in engineering education, and as part of the collaboration, UBS engineering students will be sent to Korea for short-term internships.
These collaborative projects are part of the practical work carried out in the framework of fulfilling the priority tasks in the field of higher education and science set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
